Quan Hongchan won gold medal
Chinese diver Quan Hongchan triumphed in the women's 10-meter platform diving event on Tuesday at the Paris Olympics, defending her title in the event, claiming her second gold medal at the Paris Games and securing China's 22nd gold medal overall.
In the women's 10-meter platform final on August 6, the first jump of the full red Chan with impeccable performance so that the judges on the scene gave full marks, and finally won the gold medal with a total score of 425.60, winning the Olympic champion of this project in a row.
Quan and Chen had also won the gold medal in the women's synchronized 10m platform on July 31.
Foreign media focused on Quan Hongchan
The Guardian written that Quan's first dive was judged to be unimprovable, with a full 90 marks given. A new Chinese word has been created to describe her performances, translatable as "water splash disappearance technique", and it was not hard to see why.
A decent sized pebble would have caused more of a ripple after her first forward dive with three and a half somersaults and the standards hardly slipped in the following four attempts.

Not easy to get success
Quan has come a long way to become one of China's elite Olympians and hugely popular back home.
She was one of five children born into a poor rural family. Her father was an orange farmer and her mother worked in a factory until a road accident left her in poor health.Quan has previously said that she was motivated to win to pay for her mother's hospital bills.she said”If I list all of them, we will never finish. I'm very happy to have this gold."
